Reddog Football

Play for free by joining RDF-Free, set-up a new private group and invite your friends to play. Groups can be configured to individual group requirements, or join an existing group such as Reddog. Reddog Football is a non-profit group involved in maintaining a continual interest in professional football.

Favorite team helmets are used to identify your favorite team more easily(team is highlighted). Helmets are offered to each user and if declined, a default helmet will be assigned.

Pete Prisco is an NFL sportswriter for CBS sports and he is considered an "Expert". You can compare your picks against Pete's picks every week and see who really is the expert.

Pool Rules

Each week constitutes a new pool. You may play as many or as few weeks as you like. You can also submit more than one entry. If you plan on submitting more than one entry, you must register each entry separately. Each entry must include a legitimate email address.

To enter, fill in the entry form by selecting the outcome of each game based on the game point value for each team. You will also be asked to guess the total points scored in the Monday Night Football game* which is used as a tiebreaker. You can not submit future entries from this page. Use the Quick Picks entry form.

Or...

Choose the Quick Picks entry form. This feature allows you to pick all the games with a single click. You don't have to click the Submit Button or enter points for the Monday Night Game...the default is 45. Optionally, If you change the default points be sure to do so before you select an option. After you click on one of the options, the Form will submit it's self automatically. Use this form to submit future entries. After the Quick Picks entry is submitted, you can go back to the regular entry form for the current week, make changes and resubmit your entry.

*Should the Monday Night Football game be scheduled for a different night, the last game scheduled for that week will be used as the tie breaker instead.

GamePoints (PTS)- also known as the line or point spread, it is generally thought of as the predicted margin of victory for one team. In reality, it's a number chosen by the odds maker that he feels will encourage an equal number of people to wager on the underdog and the favorite. The negative value -3½ indicates that team is favored by 3½ points. The positive value +3½ indicates that team is the underdog by 3½ points. Betting on the favorite means the team must win by at least four points to cover the spread. The underdog team can lose by three points and still cover the spread. The Point spreads for Reddog will usually be established on Tuesday afternoon and will not change during week. FoxSports

The winner for each week will be the player with the most correct picks. In the event of a tie, the player who guessed closest to the actual point total of the tiebreaker game will win. Should two or more players still be tied, the pot will be divided equally among them.

Note: for the tiebreaker, it does not matter if your point total is over or under the actual game total. It is the difference between the two numbers that counts.

Making and Changing Entries

When filling in an entry form, you do not have to make a pick for each game. All that is required is that you enter the tiebreaker point total for the Monday Night Game. This is helpful if there are early games scheduled for a given week (games played on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday). You may make your picks for these games beforehand and complete the rest later. You have 30 minutes to make your picks and hit the submit button. If you take longer than 30 minutes, the page will time-out. If this happens, you will have to go back and resubmit your entry.

Games are automatically locked out on the entry form according to their scheduled date and time. Early games are locked at the start of the individual game. All remaining games (including the Monday Night Football game) are locked at the scheduled start time of the first Sunday game.

Note: times displayed on the schedule are Eastern.

You may change your pick for any game up until the time that game is locked. You may also change your tiebreaker point total for the Monday Night Game up until the time all entries are locked on Sunday.

Entries must be completed on time. Once a game is locked, you may not change your pick for it. If you did not make a pick for a particular game, it is counted as a loss. If you submit a partial entry and either forget or are unable to complete it, you are still responsible for the entry fee.

Home
This is the first page displayed after you log in. Check here for news, announcements and updates regarding the pool.

Entry Form
You may enter for the current week or make selections in advance for upcoming weeks using the links provided. To enter, select a winner for each game and enter a tiebreaker point total for the Monday Night Game. You have 30 minutes to make your picks and hit the submit button. If you take longer than 30 minutes, the page will time-out. If this happens, you will have to go back and resubmit your entry.

Note: Game Points(Pts) are not assigned to selections made in advance for upcoming weeks.

You may change your entry by returning to this page for the given week. Your current picks and points will be shown. Make your changes and hit the Submit button.

Note that you cannot make or change picks for games that have been locked. If you did not make a pick for a game that has been locked, it is counted as a loss. Also, you may not change your tiebreaker point total for the Monday Night Game once all games for the current week have been locked.

After you submit your entry, you will receive a confirmation page that displays your entry. Receipt of this page confirms that your entry was received successfully. A completed Entry Form is not acceptable confirmation. (See My Entry)

My Entry
This page shows your picks and score for a given week. Game scores will be updated as they arrive. All game results should be in by late Monday night or early Tuesday morning. This is the confirmation page.

Results for each week's pool are generated automatically so once all scores are in, the winner will be declared.

Game Results
After the Entry Form is locked each Sunday, this page will display all entries for current week. It will be closed from Tuesday to Sunday afternoon of each week while new entries are being submitted for the current week. Entries and Scores are updated LIVE approximatly every 3 minutes. As the games are updated, entries instantly reflect the results. By late Sunday afternoon entry rankings are pretty much resolved.

Here you will find a list of the winners for each week's pool. Click on a week number to view the results page for an individual week. Some pages are not available to RDF - FREE players.

A list that displays player wins and losses for each week. Click on the numbered header columns to sort each column. This page will be used to determine the End of Year Pot. Use the Pct. column.

Biter of the Week
This link displays the player who's entry sometimes reflects the direct opposite of the winning entry.

Weekly Schedule
This page let's you view the schedule week-by-week. By default the current week will be displayed but you can jump to any week using the links at the bottom of the page. The display includes scores when available.

Team Schedules
You can view any team's schedule here by selecting its name from the drop-down list. Again, scores are displayed when available.

Standings
This page displays the current standings for all NFL teams based on available scores. From here you can click on a team name to view its schedule.

Sign-Up
All new Users must Sign-Up to play Reddog Football, If you don't have a UserName and Password ,click on Here to Sign-Up. After you Sign-up, you will be returned to the login page to login.

1. If you want to play for Free, Enter your UserName and Password, Select RDF - FREE and then click on the submit button. After you Sign-up, you will be returned to the login page to login. Some pages are not available to RDF - FREE.

2. If you want to Join Reddog, Enter your UserName and Password, Select Reddog-Private and then click on the submit button.

3. If you want to setup and manage a new Group for you and your friends, enter your UserName and Password, enter the name of your new Group (Please NO spaces, all one word) in the New Group Box and then click on the submit button. After you (The Manager)Sign-Up, your GroupName will appear in the Join GroupName box. Have members of your group Sign-Up using your new GroupName. After Sign-Up you and members of your Group just need to login each time you return to Reddog Football.

Change Password
You can change your password here. You must enter you current password and then the new password twice in the spaces provided (this helps prevent typos since you can't see what you type in the fields). Be sure to use your new password the next time you log in.

For your protection, passwords are stored in encrypted format. If you forget your password, contact the Administrator and you will be issued a new one and then you can change it to whatever you want.

Login/Logout
Login here with your username and password. You must login first to access most pages on the site. If you're having trouble logging in, contact the Administrator.

Your browser must be enabled to receive cookies in order to use this site. If you are inactive for several minutes, your session may timeout. When this happens, the next time you try to access a page you will automatically be sent back to the login page. Just sign in again and you may then continue with whatever you were doing.

You may also use this link to logout and end your session. This can be used to allow another player to login with his or her own username and password.
